The Climate Change Act sets an Australian target of:
a net 43% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions below the 2005 level by 2030, as in the Paris       agreement of 12 December 2015 (see s10 of the Act).
a reduction to net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The minister must provide an annual climate change statement 6 months in arrears (s12 of the Act).
A climate change authority is to advise the minister, with that advice to be published on its website for public consultation (s14 of the Act).
